European Construction Materials Directive - Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 - Construction products
The added value of the CE marking lies in the fact that EU Member States must allow the sale of CE marked construction products without restrictions.
This means that the competent authorities do not require additional marks or certificates, let alone additional tests. Therefore, you or your product distributors are able to market your product in any country of the European internal market with the same documentation. Together with the declaration of performance it will also help your customers and end users to check the performance of the product and compare it with other products based on the same technical approach. When a manufacturer, places the CE marking on a product, it means that it is ensured that the performance of the product sold is the same as that declared and that it has been obtained by applying the correct European technical specifications.
CE marking is mandatory for most construction products in order to be sold on the European internal market. Otherwise, it is not mandatory, but is possible under certain rules
